Annelien Groten is a development specialist with a doctorate in Anthropology (2022). She has worked for over 20 years in settings affected by development challenges. Her expertise lies in monitoring and evaluating local humanitarian and development projects focusing on participatory methodologies. Most of her work has been conducted in the field of access to justice, gender and human rights and in combination with NGOs and community-based organisations. She is bridging academia and practice by bringing international case examples to the Masters in Humanitarian Action. She has been instrumental in developing the Participatory Evaluation in Humanitarian Action course as part of the Erasmus-funded INOVHUMRE project.
