About Me

Resty Naiga is a Senior Lecturer and the current Chair and Head of the Department of Development Studies, Institute of Gender and Development Studies, Makerere University. She has a PhD in Social Economic Sciences from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, Austria; a Master in Development Studies from University College Dublin, Ireland; and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Makerere University. Her research focuses on natural resources governance, gender, collective action, refugee studies, conflict, and peacebuilding. She is the Tasks Manager and Administrator of the Master on Coordinated Humanitarian Response, Health and Displacement (HumanResponse). She is a team member of several collaborative projects, including land and water conflicts in Uganda’s refugee settings and land inequality in East Africa.
