Firminus Mugumya a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration in the School of Social Sciences at Makerere University. He holds a PhD from Dublin City University, Ireland; a Master of Arts Degree in Development Studies from The Erasmus International Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands; and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University, Uganda. He previously served as a Graduate and Undergraduate Programmes’ Coordinator in the same Department. Firminus has a strong teaching and research interest in Developmental Social Work, particularly Community Social Work. Currently he is undertaking a research study focusing on community capitals and university-community engagement for good education outcomes in school communities in western and northern Uganda.
